I've seen a bunch of journals with these future-dated 'friends only' posts, and I think that's a really neat idea! Thing is, I don't have my journal friends-locked, and I don't plan on ever friends-locking it, so that's not a problem I really need a solution for.

I am, however, a very forgetful person, and often forget which LJ-name or net-handle matches which cherished friend/interesting person/new acquaintance. So here's what I'm doing: introduce yourself! I've done pages like this before, but they become outdated and I forget where I put them, and new people never see them. So, putting it here, at the top, where it can't be missed.

Who are you? How did you get here? If you're not going to friend me, feel free to comment anyway, like it's a guestbook. If you've already friended me, introduce yourself! Already done so? Certain I know you? Do it again! Like I said, I forget, and this will be the final copy, the last time I ask. I promise (I hope?).

So... hello! I'm Audrey, and you are? :)

Edit: Updated for my new and much preferred name.

I'm Never. I am going to assume we met on asperger, but I'm not actually sure.

I like dogs, and ice cream, and shiny stuff.
Mar. 1st, 2008 05:06 am (UTC)
And thrilled I am to have met you! Thanks. :)

(Hmmm... think they could make ice cream that was shiny? But how to incorporate dogs? (The sad thing is, I'm actually going to be contemplating this in the wee hours.))

Hello Adam! :D I'm Erin!

I can't remember where we met. Some community somewhere no doubt, I am a bit of a community whore.

I'm a fat, kinky (dominant), poly, omnisexual, intergendered ftm transgendered cripple who likes making art and teaching people stuff.

I live in Australia which is a bit annoying because I'd love to hang out with you D:

I like cuddles and puppies. And dark, twisted fantasies. :D

Aha! A tiny cluster of dying memory neurons fizzled, and I managed to track down this thread in gay_sex_tips. I believe that's the first time I ever saw that icon of yours. It was at least three months more before I tilted my head, squinted a little and went 'Ohhh! It's a... mmmm, nice.' :)

And yes! Goddamn globe, getting between two like-minded perverts. Do you still hang out on Shang? If so, drop Chelsea a line some time. :D

I'm Paige, or Rune, met you through Wish (I think), and I'm a theatre / music person who took way too many psych classes and is still fascinated by quantum physics.

I am a biblioholic. Two cats own me.
Mar. 8th, 2008 10:04 pm (UTC)
Oh, is that where? Been so long, I just think of you as 'Rune from LJ'. :)
Mar. 5th, 2008 10:51 pm (UTC)
Um....well, I know you from the Red Skull Legion. I suppose Technically I met you through RaidWerks and my lovely husband, TheWinterfox. I live in the lovely, yet frequently weather bound, state of Vermont with 3 cats, one husband and regular and entertaining guests.

I have a degree in english, concentrating in Children's and Ancient Lit but currently work in technology, cause editing makes me MORE compulsive and doesn't pay. *grin*
I love to travel, make things with fabric (evening gowns being my newest genre of project) and cooking fantatstic food to be shared with those I love.

Anything else you'd like to know?
Mar. 8th, 2008 10:08 pm (UTC)
Well, technically I don't think I met you until I joined the Legion. Or did we raid together with the Werks? Honestly, my attention was so stretched as the 'lock leader, I mostly only registered the Warlocks in a sea of non-Warlock faces. :)

And nope, no further queries for now. Thanks for contributing! :)

Heh...actually I suppose I knew who YOU were, from listening to TheWinterfox talk, but you didn't get to meet me much until the Skulls.

Introductions...I don't do those well
Hi. I'd forgotten my account existed. You've been on my friends list pretty much the entire time I've had the journal. Since 2001.

And I honestly have no clue where I found you or if you found me. I commonly go by Romkira or kira on the nets.

I enjoy too many things to list, and more often forgotten half of them.
I love my children. I'm a complete emotional screwball. I like to play games with everything, because honestly life's more fun when I get to laugh at it all.
And I apparently enjoy talking about myself tonight.

Hey I'm Cash,

We met on Shangri La Mush. ;) You gave me this LJ to keep in contact with you. ;D

I haven't even posted yet...
But I will soon. I just read Brad Hicks' journal. I noticed you had a character from a cool comic book that as your icon in a comment. (I think char was from Transmetropolitan, which I've always wanted to read.) The thread was in Brad's "On Second Thought, Let's NOT Call For Whacky Preachers To Be Denounced By Our Presidential Hopefuls" topic. Since you were among the 50% or so of commenters who agreed with Brad, I thought I'd look at your link on a whim.

I skimmed your last few entries. You seem reasonable, good hearted, and detail oriented. You also "smell" (I use the word for lack of anything quicker as shorthand) like one of the people I'm glad exist. Its a type categorized by no single trait. It is very heartening for me to even see at a distance these particular presneces generated by the Random Number Generator that is the gene pool. The resulting feelings are a big part of what makes me agree life is worth fighting for.

Oh and hi, I've got Autistic Spectra Disorder too... (I have a formal diagnosis of Asperger's. But I'm having less and less confidence in the meaningfulness of various shades of definition here. I just like the general term better now that I've read Temple's hypotheses that seem to adequately explain what I have in common with the "severely" autistic and it seems to hold water to me.) Yah, brain bentness sucks at times. But weirdly enough in just the last two years I've changed how I felt about this condition. I've pondered the other ways I most likely would have turned out without its influence. I realized that I would rather not be those people. So I have a sort of strangled peace with being this way. (Which does not mean I get along well with all ASD folk) (looks at the typical message threads on Wrong Planet and sighs)(not to denigate them, just had though I'd meet more people with my bent there than I did and let down by reality refusing to provide me with a tribe or pack no matter how hard I look) Maybe eventually you'll get to experience the blessings and positive side of ASD more and connect with it. (Which in no way minimizes the painful parts...) I'm on Taps as Runa, too.

Re: I haven't even posted yet...
*grins* Hi there! Nice to meet you. I know exactly what you mean about the 'smell' of people, and I treasure exactly what you describe. I kind of short-hand it by describing such individuals as 'one of the good ones'.

Transmet is a fantastic series which, yes, you should read. I'd lend you mine, except you're not here and, come to think of it, they aren't mine. Heheh.

You seem interesting too. I skimmed your journal a little, and plan to give it a more thorough read whenever I both remember and have the time. I look forward to hearing more from you. Thanks! :)

I'm Wish, you met Rune via my LJ. ^^

We're buddies from the Project Infinity days, and we've met IRL a couple of times. We danced with the whole PI crew at a barmitsvah, and we sat in evilbj's living room and talked about characters for hooooours. :D

I does art. I think I probably owe you some art. I owe just about everyone art... >_>

And I <3 You!

May. 6th, 2008 02:55 pm (UTC)
You know, of the many faces and names and full-on identities from the 'net which are in danger of vanishing from my mind, you're on the very short list of people I think I'm physically incapable of forgetting. You are hewn directly from a block of pure awesome. :)

Oh, and not only do you not owe me art, but I think I still owe you a ten dollar commission for a crop circle graphic I requested ages ago. ;)

Totally <3 you back!

I finally got my LJ back after a long long time without a correct password, and while I know you haven't been active on here for quite a while, I hope you're doing well and feeling good. <3

Hiya, I am Tabitha.

I am 39 years old (40 in October).

I drive OTR tractor trailers.

I have a 15 year old son who lives in Virginia with his mother.

Mother? Yes, mother. I am a "post-op" Male to female Transsexual (MtoF TS)!

No, I dont usually blurt that out......

I live in the truck basically, having no home. I do however have a girlfriend in Seattle and so can crash there. As well as at friends houses all over the country if need be.

I dont remember how we found/friended each other...

*blinks, roots around in friends, communities, and interests*

I haven't the faintest idea how we found/friended each other. Huh. Have you left any communities in the past couple of years? Maybe I saw you on one and took an interest. I dunno.

I'm glad I friended you, though! You're powerful and awesome and inspiring. You know kung fu and drive a truck, and are also very beautiful while doing so. You're the kind of lady my inner little girl wants desperately to grow up to be.

Sorry if I'm gushing. I just think you're neat. Thanks for the post! :)

Had to be that we found each other through LJ.

Well, thank you for all the nummy compliments. :-)

Your inner girl can always sneak out to play. You just have to ease her out a little at a time so as not to startle anyone. Is how I started. Slow and sure wins the race.

hello! we've never spoken directly, but i've been seeing you around transgender and i've been poking around in here and you seem very sweet. i figured an introduction was in order.

my name is andrew. broadly, i love graphic design and music. specifically, i love typography and synthesizers. if they made a typographic synthesizer, i'd be all over that shit. maybe a synthesizer made out of a typewriter or something. i'll work on it.

i'm going to friend you, feel free to do the same, although in the interest of full disclosure i have to say that i'm kind of boring. i'm working on that, too.

Stumbled upon you through puns community, where I tend to meet some interesting bloggers.

Also always need more poly pagan friends. :-)

I was just rummaging around LJ and thought I'd friend you because of lots of similar interests and because I'm working on being more sociable! :)

I would've thought the picture would give it away, but I'm Neill.

We ended up on your blog by trying to figure out how to spell "descabbified" for a rousing game of Scrabble. You have the one instance of it on the interwebs from your August 4th, 2009 blog post. We now have the second with this comment post.

My name is Blue and I saw you over at Polyamory :) I'm not new to LJ but this is a new journal for me so I'm finding Interesting People and friending them. I'm going to friend you right now!

(userpic forthcoming... as I am only internet capable via my phone, and uploading userpics on my phone is impossible...)
